Drugs Do Not Cure Disease

All disease is the result of nutritional deficiency.  No synthetic drug has ever healed anyone.  Yet Billions are spent every year on drugs and expensive medical procedures in the hopes of curing disease.  No one every died from a deficiency of medicine.

The reason that your food cost is not very high is because farm animals do not have health insurance or tax paid government health care.  Instead of buying expensive medical procedures and lots of drugs farmers and ranchers have learned to keep animals healthy by supplementing their diets with vitamins and minerals.  Even the stupidest animal gets a pelletized supplement that is biochemically perfect because they can not sort through there food and eat only the sunflower seeds and the raisins.  Their health is not dependent on their choices of food.

Farmers and ranchers have been so successful at providing the right nutritional supplements to animals that in the animal kingdom about 900 different diseases have been eliminated due to nutritional supplementation.  Unfortunately, many of these same diseases still plague human beings.

The historical life span of domesticated animals have been doubled and tripled over the last 60 years.  For example dogs used to be considered old at the age of 10 year.  Today, dogs routinely live to be 20+ years old.   Ten years ago an old cat was 12 years.  Today an old cat is 25 to 30 years old.  These life extensions were not made because of wonder drugs, genetically engineered proteins,  stem cells and transplants.  It was accomplished  by simply adding vitamins, minerals and trace minerals to their food.   That same concept of using nutrition to help the body grow and heal works in people.

Human beings have the genetic capacity to live well beyond 100 years old.  The September 2000 issue of Scientific America was almost totally devoted to people who had lived to be 100 years old or more.  In general, it turns out that people who lived to be 100 years old did not listen to their doctors.  They were rebels and had long healthy lives.  The people who listened to their doctors did not make it to be 100 years old.

In Time magazine of April 1992 were 6 pages devoted to the health benefits of vitamin and mineral supplementation.   Clive McKay published a landmark research paper in 1935 based on his study of research rats.  At that time the average rat lived for about 10 months after weaning while just eating rolled oats and carrots.  Once the lab rats were given nutritional pellets they lived to be an average of two years.  What McKay found was that if he supplemented the diets and reduced the calories the rats they lived 50% longer.   By reducing the calories more the rats lived even longer.  The conclusion of his experiments were that when the concentration of vitamins and mineral per carbohydrates goes up life and health will be improved.  In other words, by increasing the vitamins and minerals and reducing the caloric intake longer  healthier life will result.

In the Hunza Valley of Pakistan people routinely live to be well over 100 years old.  In fact, those societies where advanced age and health are common place tend to be in the remote places far away from hospitals, doctors, drugs and modern medical marvels.  The places where lives tend to be shorter and less healthy tend to be where there are plenty of hospitals, doctors and medicines.

The secret to the Hunza Valley people was that they had low carbohydrate diets.  They ate meats and fats like lamb, mutton, goat, cheese, milk, butter and some vegetables.  They got their minerals by mixing wood ash from their fire places every morning into the soils of their farms.  (Wood ash are the minerals remaining after the wood carbon is burned away.)

At the end of the industrial revolution people’s living habits changed and there is a marked decline in health in the civilized world.  Modern homes used electricity and no longer were vitamins and minerals placed into the diet.  This fact coupled with the decline in soil vitamins and minerals resulted in a chronic condition of vitamin and minerals deficiency in the diet and shorter lives.

Human Beings need 90+ essential nutrients (60 minerals, 16 vitamins, 12 essential amino acids, 3 essential fatty acids).   This allows us to flourish, grow, heal, repair and fight off diseases.    Plants only need 9 essential nutrients.   But plants can survive on 3 nutrients (N, P, K, Nitrogen, Phosphate and Potassium) .. Humans need 60 minerals.  Where are the other 57 minerals going to come from?  Food plants can not give a person every thing he needs.  Plalnts are very good at making vitamins, amino acids and fatty acids when they are in excellent and ideal conditions.   Plants are very efficient at using CO2 out of the air and sunlight to make long carbon chains (photosynthesis) which can be made into amino acids and fatty acids.   If you can pick plant food properly at the peak of health, store the plants properly and cook them properly you might be able to get enough amino acids and fatty acids.  But in reality this is not happening.  Further, plants can not make minerals.   They get their minerals from the soil.

Nutritional minerals do not occur evenly around the surface of the earth.  They occur in veins.  This means that some soils will be deficient in various minerals.  Other soils are deficient in other minerals.  The odds to getting all 60 essential minerals are very slim.  No matter where you live you will be deficient in minerals.
